It’s a valuable source of information about the site, and includes an acknowledgement of appreciation for all the individuals who have contributed to The Wisdom Page. With Cop leading the way, The Wisdom Page is a co-creation of numerous writers and researchers devoted to the study of wisdom. Of special note are the Advisory Board members, listed with biographical links below. All of them have studied and thought about wisdom, frequently taught courses and other educational offerings on the topic, and have extensively written about it, contributing many articles and even books to the resources contained in The Wisdom Page. Cop, in “Memory and Recognition,” is included as an Advisory Board member—for indeed he is the founding member—and the biographical link for him below takes you to all of his writings on the topic, many of which can be freely accessed on the Web.

Wisdom Page Advisory Board

My name is Copthorne ("Cop") Macdonald and back in 1995 I created The Wisdom Page to provide Internet access to wisdom-related resources. The "Us" in "About Us" refers to the many contributors who have so generously made their materials available to others through The Wisdom Page, and to the Wisdom Page Advisory Board.

Over the years, the contributors, Board members, and I have worked together to increase the site's impact, and we've been making progress. The site has become a serious source of information about wisdom for not only the general public, but also for writers and academic researchers.

As I write this, a Google search for the single word "wisdom" returns about 79 million pages. The Wisdom Page is consistently near the top of those 79 million, usually on the first page of the search returns. This makes it an easy-to-reach destination for individuals searching for information on wisdom. Each month the website is visited some 15,000 times by 10,000 unique visitors from more than 140 countries. More than 250 repeat visitors have signed up to receive monthly newsletters telling them about the latest additions to the site. Many others, via automatic RSS feed, receive those updates the day they occur. Also each month, more than 30,000 requests for electronic documents (including wisdom-related doctoral dissertations and free eBook editions of my wisdom-related books) are successfully filled. Suggestions for additions to the site (documents, links, audio, or video materials) are appreciated, but only those considered appropriate to the theme of the site and useful to visitors will be used. Links to The Wisdom Page from other sites are also appreciated, but The Wisdom Page doesn't "trade links." Create a link to The Wisdom Page if you feel it would be helpful to your site's visitors.

The images and text provided to Internet users through The Wisdom Page belong to various parties and are covered by copyright. The copyright holders want you to have online access to these materials, but do not want their other rights compromised.
